– Ocean Leadership & Global Responsibility
The Year 6 Ocean World programme empowers pupils to think critically, act responsibly and lead with confidence. Building on scientific understanding from previous years, this final stage focuses on ocean pollution, climate change and global action, preparing students to become informed and proactive Ocean Ambassadors.
Through carefully structured lessons, powerful non-fiction texts and discussion-led enquiry, pupils explore the urgent challenges facing our oceans — and, importantly, the solutions.

Focus: Ocean Pollution & Protecting Our Seas
Term 2
Focus: Climate Change & Global Action
This term deepens understanding of how climate change affects oceans and the planet.Students examine:
- Causes of climate change
- Ocean warming and acidification
- Effects on marine life
- The role oceans play in regulating climate
- Video 5 mins : Save the Planet
- Term 3Focus: Leadership, Goals & Becoming Ocean AmbassadorsIn the final term, pupils move from understanding problems to identifying solutions and setting meaningful goals.Students consolidate knowledge and reflect on the interconnectedness of oceans and climate systems.

By the end of Year 6, pupils will:
